The vehicle is available in Premium and Performance variants, both featuring an 82.56 kWh BYD Blade Battery and Cell-to-Body (CTB) structural battery integration. When evaluating the structural battery safety, consult an authorised BYD dealer for official documentation. Any aftermarket accessories or physical additions must be subject to manufacturer specifications.

Interior Protection & Floor Mats

Interior accessories protect the Thaumus Black interior of the BYD SEAL. Floor mats protect the carpet from dirt, debris, and wear over the vehicle’s life. The driver seat features position memory, and the front seats are ventilated and heated; any aftermarket floor mats must not interfere with pedal operation or seat movement. When selecting mats, refer to the official owner’s manual to ensure correct installation and compatibility with the factory floor retention clips. The cabin also features a PM2.5 high efficiency filter and negative ion air purifier, alongside automatic dual-zone heat pump air-conditioning. Any interior accessories mounted near the dashboard should not block the climate vents.

Cargo & Boot Accessories

The BYD SEAL features a front cargo capacity of 53 L and a rear cargo capacity of 400 L. A boot liner protects the rear cargo area from spills and scratches. Liners are available in various materials such as carpet, rubber or moulded plastic. Ensure any rear boot liner does not obstruct access to the V2L discharge adapter if stored there. For the front cargo area, exact accessory dimensions should be checked to ensure proper closure without contacting the chassis or other electrical hardware. The vehicle has a one-touch tailgate for accessing the rear cargo space.

Exterior Protection, Sunshades & Tinting

Paint protection film (PPF) and ceramic coatings protect the exterior colours, such as Aurora White, Atlantis Grey, Cosmos Black, and Shark Grey. The vehicle has a panoramic glass roof with an electric sunshade. To manage panoramic glass roof heat in Australia, ceramic tinting on the side glass is an option. A clip-on sunshade roof accessory is an alternative to exterior window tinting. The vehicle features a 360-degree camera, front parking sensors (2 zones), and rear parking sensors (4 zones); any paint protection film or exterior accessories must not cover or interfere with these sensors or the DiPilot driver assistance systems. These systems include blind spot detection, lane departure warning and prevention, emergency lane keeping assist, and predictive collision warning. Consult an authorised BYD dealer before applying films over sensor areas.

Towing & Carrying

The BYD SEAL Premium has a kerb weight of 2,055 kg and a gross vehicle mass of 2,501 kg. The Performance variant has a kerb weight of 2,185 kg and a gross vehicle mass of 2,631 kg. Towing capacity figures are not published in the official data; confirm towing capabilities and towbar availability with BYD Automotive Australia. Any loading or towing beyond specifications is not covered by the 6 years / 150,000 km vehicle warranty. The unladen ground clearance is 149 mm (Premium) and 145 mm (Performance), and the alloy wheels are fitted with 235/45 R19 tyres. Any aftermarket wheel selections must suit the 1,620 mm front and 1,625 mm rear wheel track, and accommodate the ventilated and drilled front discs with fixed calipers (which are painted on the Performance) and ventilated rear discs. Confirm any wheel modifications with a qualified technician to maintain the integrity of the chassis.

Electronic & Charging Accessories

The BYD SEAL charges via an AC charging port Type 2 (7 kW) or a DC charging port CCS 2 (150 kW). A portable charging cable (mode 2) is included. Any aftermarket charging accessories or cables must be subject to manufacturer specifications. Regarding DC fast charging speed curves and battery pre-conditioning en route to a DC charger, refer to the official owner’s manual for operating thresholds and recommendations. The vehicle features a 15.6-inch intelligent rotating touch screen display, a 10.25-inch LCD instrumentation screen, and a head-up display. The interior also features a DYNAUDIO premium sound system with 12 speakers. Infotainment sideloading risks include system instability, privacy concerns, and software conflicts. The vehicle supports over-the-air (OTA) updates and includes 2 GB of data per month for the first 2 years; unauthorised software modifications may interfere with these updates. Any work involving the high-voltage system, charging hardware, or battery must be done by an authorised BYD dealer or qualified technician. High-voltage orange cables must not be touched or opened by owners.

Powertrain Modifications & Tuning

The BYD SEAL is a pure electric vehicle. The Premium variant has a rear permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 230 kW and 360 Nm. The Performance variant adds a front squirrel cage induction asynchronous motor for all-wheel drive, totalling 390 kW and 670 Nm, achieving 0-100 km/h in 3.8 s. The Premium variant includes Frequency Selective Damping, while the Performance model uses DiSus-C adaptive damping and Intelligent Torque Adaptation Control (iTAC). EVDirect and BYD warranty terms expressly prohibit unofficial software modifications, ECU/MCU tuning, or battery management bypass. Third-party tuning poses significant vehicle warranty risks, insurance implications, and environmental or ADR compliance issues in Australia. Modifications, additions or alterations including to software are not covered by the warranty. Only genuine spare parts imported by BYD Australia and installed by an authorised BYD Retailer are covered for 12 months from the date of purchase.

Gas Conversion Notice

The BYD SEAL operates purely on electricity. There is no gas program. BYD Australia does not offer, support, or authorise LPG conversions. The vehicle runs exclusively on an electric powertrain. Aftermarket gas modification is void of manufacturer warranty and is not physically possible on a pure electric vehicle, as it lacks internal combustion components.
